Someone once said that aerodynamically, the bumble bee shouldn't be able to fly, but the bumblebee doesn't know it so it goes on flying anyway. According to 20th century folklore, the laws of aerodynamics prove that the bumblebee should be incapable of flight, because it does not have the capacity (in terms of wing size or beats per second) to achieve flight.
While in Geraldine, Alabama Saturday I watched this Bumblebee for a few moments. I was intrigued by his busy nature and as I watched him fly away to his next adventure I pondered his aerodynamics. I began to wonder if when he was just a little larvae, people told him he would never fly. Did he grow up hearing that his wings were too little? Did they tell him he was too chubby or too weak to fly?
As I thought about my new friends’ childhood I imagined him coming home from school one day in tears because he would never be able to fly. Then I imagined mother bumblebee looking him in the eyes and saying, you can do anything you set your heart to do. If you want to fly with all your heart, you can fly. Do not worry about what people say, go out there and prove them wrong, because, you can fly.
Today, I want to look you in the eye and tell you that you too can fly. The only difference between the things we call impossible and the possible lies in a man’s determination. Remember, every great and noble work was at first impossible. What is it that you want today? Do you have a dream? Nothing is impossible; there are ways that lead to everything, and if we had sufficient will, we should always have sufficient means. Step out in faith and spread your wings, because you can fly.
Something to think about:
-
Success comes in cans; failure comes in can’ts.
-
People who say that something is impossible should not interrupt those who are managing to get it done.
-
We are all faced with a series of great opportunities brilliantly disguised as impossible situations.
-
When faced with a mountain, I will not quit! I will keep on striving until I climb over, find a pass through, tunnel underneath . . . or simply stay and turn the mountain into a gold mine, with His help.
-
Faith sees the invisible, believes the unbelievable, and receives the impossible.
