A sunny day and a field of wild flowers stretched before me. Mother Natures ceiling fan stirred the colorful carpet as I walked beneath seas of blue. The workforce dressed in uniforms with strips and wings and buzzed furiously in search of the ingredients for their sweet dish. Together we strolled through a meadow clothed with more splendors that Solomon in all his brilliance. I felt honored to be surrounded by such treasures and the humble servants so blessed by their labor.
The perfume that floated in the gentle wind softened the breeze and filled it with honey. And I am just a sponge; soaking up all the beauties of this remarkable place. I had stepped into a banquet hall overflowing with simple pleasures and magical beauty. And with each footstep I am treated to delights that could inspire Picasso for a lifetime. I kneel in the field of flowers to get a closer look at the efforts of the bees and butterflies. They seem especially interested in this alluring yellow flower, so I stoop down to get a closer look at what all the buzz is about.
This picture is a small patchwork of two photos of the same flower. I felt they stood stronger and taller together than they did apart. I took two photos that seemed weak on their own and combined them into something new. I saw an opportunity to make a small improvement and create something no one had ever seen before. That my friend is one of the secrets of true happiness; leaving things better than you found them. Happiness depends mainly upon the improvement of small opportunities. Where there is sorrow, let us strive to bring comfort. When we find discord, let us sow peace. Let us bring sunshine when we find shadows; hope when we meet despair and always seek to improve the lives of those who call us friend.
The road to happiness is always under construction. Let’s do something every day to make someone happy and the best place to start is the place we call home. Mother, father, sister, brother, son and daughter; if anyone needs a loving touch, it is our family. How long has it been since you went out of your way and did something nice for these, our lifelong friends? Let us be constantly in search for ways to spread sunshine in the lives of those around us. Happiness is not where you live but how you live. Happiness is a choice; choose to improve.
Something to think about:
-
If you have to move even ten inches from where you are now in order to be happy, you never will be.
-
Happiness is the spiritual experience of living every minute with love, grace, and gratitude.
-
Most people are about as happy as they make up their minds to be.
-
Lord, make me an instrument of your peace,
Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
where there is injury, pardon;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
where there is sadness, joy;
-
Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console;
to be understood as to understand;
to be loved as to love.
-
For it is in giving that we receive;
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned;
and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.
Thankful for those who constantly improve my life
