Time to Shine
The Sermon on the Mount has always fascinated me, I imagine much like it did the original hearers. Check out Matthew chapter 5 where Jesus says, “14 You are the light of the world. A city located on top of a hill cannot be hidden, 15 nor do they light a lamp and place it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it shines on all those in the house. 16 In the same way let your light shine before people, so that they can see your good works and glorify your Father who is in heaven.” Jesus is promising the greatest of all blessings to those who are part of his kingdom… they are blessings of usefulness. He has placed his followers in a position of influence. They are to reflect His light and thereby be a blessing to those in their sphere of influence. By the good deeds issuing from a changed life, they are able to stem the tide of corruption and darkness that engulfs a fallen world. How many times a day, do you hear someone say, “Have a blessed day”? Today, let’s turn this around and say, “Be a blessing today”. Let’s joint together today and sing, “This Little light of mine, I’m gonna let it shine . . . Something to think about Rickey Moore Comments
